2017 will be remembered as one of the most shocking year in American history. Firstly, the iPhone 8 introduced several cool new key features such as finger print sensor and face ID, which allows you to unlock your iPhone by simply scanning your finger or face. Secondly, Donald Trump’s victory in the presidential election sparked protests across the country. Thirdly, North Korea launched a hydrogen bomb over the Pacific Ocean, which nearly started World War Three. But as we jump into the New Year, I would like to see changes in myself, technology, and the world.
The New Year brings many changes. I believe the New Year is a chance to turn over a new leaf. Therefore, I would like to see myself break bad habits such as procrastination. In 2017, I would always hold off on projects and essays until the last minute. Instead of working on my papers and projects, I would be too busy watching my favorite TV series. As a result of procrastination, I gained stress, bad mood and lack of sleep. For this reason, I plan to stop procrastination by breaking tasks into small pieces. Thus, I will use a planner to keep track of all my weekly assignments and finish my goals in a timely manner.
Also, because I am a tech head who is always after the latest devices, I am very excited to see what new technological innovations lie ahead of 2018. Recently after reading Innovation and Tech Magazine, I am astonished by the idea of self-driving vehicles in 2018. Can you imagine how cool it would be to ride in a car without a human driver? Also, I am thrilled about Apple’s iPhone 9 that is set to release in 2018. I can’t wait to see what new features the new iPhone 9 will have! Although 2017 was a great year for tech fans, the future looks way more interesting.
In addition, since the U.S successfully attacked the terrorist group “ISIS” in 2017, I hope to see peace and less conflict in the world. The reason that I want world peace is because I strongly believe that war is horrific. In the past, war has never solved anything. It always leads to massive amount of bloodshed, resentment, and depression. Also, if World War three broke out, it would end all life on earth through the use of nuclear weapons. For this reason, I would like to see mankind maintain world peace in 2018.
As we start the New Year, people should try to better themselves, because 2018 provides us with another chance to change our lives. In addition, it’s time to look forward to new changes in technology. As technology becomes more refined, I can’t wait to see what 2018 has in store! Also, I hope to see less conflict in the world. By maintaining international peace, we can avoid future wars. Although last year had a lot of ups and downs, I hope 2018 will be filled with positive possibilities.
